Dr. Shahram Namjoy Nik (Dr Nik) completed his high school education in LongIsland, New York, before earning his general dental degree and pursuing an MSc in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Manchester Dental School under Professor Rood.
He then spent three years in clinical training and research, culminating in a PhD in Implant Surgery and Prosthetic Implantology from the University of Manchester in 1998, making him the only dentist in Iran with a specialist doctorate (PhD) in Implantology.
Over his academic and professional career, Dr. Nik has placed more than 10,000 dental implants, ranging from routine cases to complex surgical and prosthetic treatments. He has extensive experience managing challenging cases involving bone grafts, nerve repositioning, sinus augmentations, and extra-oral implants, treating patients aged 12 to 90, including those with systemic conditions such as oligodontia and scleroderma.
Dr. Nik is also one of the original designers of modern dental implants in the UK, having developed innovative and proprietary techniques in the field.
A dedicated educator and researcher, Dr. Nik spent a decade teaching implantology at dental faculties and research centres and has delivered lectures and training programs internationally across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.
He is the author of two books that compile his research and clinical expertise and has long championed structured implant education for general dentists, advocating for concepts such as Immediate Restoration and Loading long before they became widely accepted.
Today, Dr. Nik continues to lead with a forward-thinking approach, designing educational programs that modernise implantology practice and empower dentists to deliver high-quality, cutting-edge care with improved outcomes and professional satisfaction.
